GOSHEN, NY – Today, Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and candidate for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District, released the following statement after Congressman Pat Ryan voted against impeaching Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:

At every opportunity, Pat Ryan fails to break from the Biden agenda. As County Executive, he made Ulster County a Sanctuary County, and as a House Member, he has voted in lockstep with Joe Biden’s open border policies. His recent calls for meaningful action fall on deaf ears. Ryan had an opportunity to join his House colleagues in passing meaningful legislation, H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, in May 2023, but he refused. 

Just last night, he decided against holding the Biden Administration accountable and voted against impeaching Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his dereliction of duty. Ryan’s willingness to gaslight us is cynical, disappointing, and everything that’s wrong with American politics.
