GOSHEN, NY – Today, Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and candidate for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District, released the following statement after Congressman Pat Ryan’s too-little, too-late call to secure the wide-open southern border:
It was time to get to work to secure our southern border before millions of illegal immigrants poured into our communities. It was time to get to work before countless families lost countless children and loved ones to the deadly fentanyl poisoning our communities. It was time to stand for commonsense policies when Pat Ryan bowed to the radical left and made Ulster a sanctuary county.
But, instead of fighting to protect New York families, Pat Ryan has been a rubber stamp for Joe Biden’s failed open border policy and its dangerous consequences.
Pat Ryan isn’t serious about the border crisis. Like all career politicians, Pat Ryan is only serious about doing what’s politically expedient for him. Don’t let him fool you into thinking he’ll solve the problem he created.
