GOSHEN, NY – Today, Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and candidate for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District, issued the following statement in response to new data showing nearly 7.2 million migrants have illegally crossed the Southern border since President Biden entered office:
Sadly, it’s not surprising that President Biden and radical Democrats like Pat Ryan’s failed open border policies have led to record-high numbers of illegal migrants entering our country. Joe Biden proved on his first day in office that he can open the border, now he must use those same powers to close the border. Instead of fighting to solve the crisis and protect New York communities and families, Pat Ryan has completely supported Joe Biden’s failed open border agenda and its dangerous consequences.

Pat Ryan has a long record of supporting open border policies, and the Ulster County Executive made Ulster a sanctuary county and refused to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In November 2023, Esposito joined a group of candidates and elected officials to visit the Yuma section of the Southern Border to witness the Biden Border crisis firsthand.
