Goshen, NY –

GOSHEN, NY – Today, Alison Esposito, 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and candidate for Congress, issued the following statement in response to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Congressman Pat Ryan’s call on Tuesday in Wallkill for the U.S. Justice Department to help address organized retail theft operations that are costing local businesses in the Hudson Valley tens of thousands of dollars.

Once again, instead of taking responsibility for their failed policies, the far-left is offering nothing but lip service and putting the responsibility on others to clean up the consequences of their actions. The fact is, Schumer, Ryan and their far-left allies like Kathy Hochul’s soft-on-crime policies, have emboldened violent criminals and incentivized recidivism. These crooks are stealing because they know they won’t be held accountable for their actions. Schumer and Ryan believe New Yorkers are fools, this is not about a photo op. To crack down on the crime plaguing New York’s streets, we need to fully enforce the law and give our local law enforcement officials the resources and full support they need. Increasing incidents of crime and theft will continue unless we elect new leaders who prioritize restoring law and order and public safety and who will actually hold criminals accountable for their actions.
